I need you to learn how to say I. But don't say "I" so many times and if you do say it, don't confuse your readers and don't add too many voices to the paper. Also, don't sound arrogant and don't use it incorrectly, or too many times ! This is what we get on using "I" in an essay. We have been taught not to use "I" however nobody ever told me, so I've always used it and nobody ever said anything to me about it! So that being said, I hope I've been using it right all along.
You've only got to use I when you've already transitioned into your segment of voice. Ease it in, and maintain a good flow to the ideas. Always remember when integrating your "I", ....DON'T GO "I' CRAZY.
WOW! I love how at the end of the article you get a few scenarios where you should write in first person and basically when instruction is asking you to insert first person. That is a great tool and something to read and remember or keep in mind when writing essays. Then you get a few tips on when to stay away from using "I". Great advice and now I can refer back to this reading when I am struggling with using "I".
