and most importantly, never quit without a fight.
This article seems like a necessary reading before beginning to tackle a huge paper! I've already learned new ways to get my thinking ball rolling when I cant think of something to write, or if I have half of my idea but not the rest, I kind of know how to find the rest now. You've got to read or write or outline to start producing good ideas. Free writing and reading rhetorically as well as outlining or creating a bullet list can help to organize and gather thoughts, ideas, information, or anything that could possibly be a part of this long essay ...that you don't think you'll ever get through!! I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty nervous for this paper because it has to be just about 8 pages !! But I know that if I read all of the material and follow along in class, I can get through the paper. The most important thing is to have all my ideas in order and make sure everything goes together smoothly.
forming ideas..... oh great, I'm stuck !..... Free write time can help !.... Let me read a book.......
Do we really need both? I have really never done primary research when I have the internet right in front of me. Primary research is more work and not that I am trying to be lazy but sometimes I just don't know when I'll find the time. I actually JUST came up with an idea! I am going to interview a professor as my primary research. That should give me good information and tie into my essay just fine. But the question still stands, Is it important or necessary to have both primary research and secondary research? Secondary research is much more handy.
On the other hand, I really like how they showed the writing process and planning process for other students. That was awesome !! And necessary because it just helped me fine tune my writing process. Always learning and advancing !
Well !! This reading definitely helped. I learned things that I used to do and mess up on and now I can clearly see how annoying it must be to people reading my work who know how to write and cite properly. This reading is going to stick with me and I'm definitely going to reference back to it when I am writing not only my essays in this class but other classes as well. Knowing how to reference properly is so important because you just kind of look a little uneducated for the lack of my normal term. Don't make yourself look stupid ! Know how to properly reference so you don't piss people off with illiterate writing. Other people take their time to learn and understand how to write properly and if you're not doing it as well, or if IM not doing it right ?! Well, we're all just giving those people a real good slap in the face. They took the time to learn and understand and write properly so their papers are at least exceptional, and your paper just looks like you didn't care of half assed your paper. Don't only put half your energy into a paper. You're doing all this hard, strenuous work to create a paper, well, you better make sure the paper is 100% up to standards or you are just wasting your time. Don't waste your time, not for me or for your professor, but for you !! Read this text again and again to make sure that your essay is up to par with correct references so you don't look stupid or lazy. College is hard work, nobody said it was easy.
